Are my photos encrypted when using photo backup?

Your photos, along with all important metadata, are encrypted to ensure that your data remains private and only accessible to you. 

However, photo creation date metadata is not encrypted, to allow sorting of photos in a chronological order and provide a smooth navigation within the app.
